He tells us to count the cost.
He did – He paid it all.
He told us to stop grumbling and complaining
Oh yeah, that one is a sin too.
He told us to take up our cross daily.
Am I willing??
When our schedules are jammed-packed.
When we have a cold and are weak and weary.
He told us to be ready to give an account of
Him in season and out? II Tim. 4:2
So, how am I doing??
I knelt at the altar where the believed stone where
Christ pouring out His agony to the Father occurred.
I walked around the olive grove of Gethsemane
Where the Roman soldiers came to haul Him away.
Away to walk the Via Dolorosa– the road of suffering… a painful journey.
I stood by an olive tree that has been there since Christ.
On the Mount of Olives
Where Judas set Him up with a betraying kiss.
How many times have I kissed our Savior in betrayal?
We say yes Lord, but do we act
On our yes? Or merely
Give lip service to our lukewarm faith?
Will He spit us out of His mouth
Because of our lukewarm faith? Rev. 3:16
We must ask ourselves these challenging questions
We must look at the fractures in our own soul
We must take the time to heal our hearts, souls, and bodies.
Our spirit is alive with His spirit.
Yet, He allows our will to override His.
Yes, we live in consequence when we do that.
Yet, it is His kindness that
Causes us to repent. Romans 2:3-4.
Jesus paid it all.
All to Him I owe.
Sin had left a crimson stain.
He washed it white as snow.
As we leave the Holy City
Return to life in our land
We enter the Holy Season
Reflect, repent as necessary.
Receive the love of Christ.
He is the same
and Forever. Hebrews 13:8.
